San Anselmo Concrete was founded in 2022 by a crew of tradespeople who grew up working in the Bay Area and understood exactly what Marin County homes need. The town of San Anselmo sits in a valley surrounded by hills, with housing stock that stretches back to the 1920s and 1930s. These are homes built on older foundations, with driveways cracked by tree roots, and hillside lots where drainage has to be thought through carefully. We know the territory.
From the craftsman bungalows near The Hub downtown to the hillside properties above Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, our work is visible throughout the neighborhood. We started the company because we kept seeing homeowners get burned by contractors who gave phone quotes, showed up unprepared, and left the job without finishing it properly. We decided to do it differently.
Every project starts with a site visit, a written estimate, and a clear conversation about what the job involves. We pull permits, we prepare the base correctly, and we do not hand over a job until the surface looks the way it should. San Anselmo homeowners have high standards for their properties, and so do we.
We tell you what the job actually involves before we start. No surprises at the end of the project, no line items that weren't discussed.
The part of a concrete job you can't see after it is done - the base, the grade, the compaction - is where we spend the most time. That is what makes the surface last.
Your time matters. We keep our start dates, communicate any delays before they happen, and finish what we start without leaving a half-done job sitting in your yard.
We only build things we would put in front of our own homes. If something is not right, we come back and make it right - no hassle, no runaround.
The California Contractors State License Board issues the C-8 classification specifically for concrete contractors. It covers the full scope of concrete work including driveways, foundations, flatwork, and structural elements. Hiring a C-8 licensed contractor means the person doing your work has met the state's minimum requirements for experience and has passed a licensing exam.
For projects that involve concrete retaining walls, steps, and structural masonry alongside flatwork, the C-29 classification applies. Carrying this credential means we can legally handle the full range of concrete and masonry work your property may need, without subcontracting pieces of the job to others.
